Confirmation

In the Lutheran tradition, Confirmation refers to a period of instruction in the Christian faith in preparation for the Rite of Affirmation of Baptism at which time the young people claim for themselves the faith into which they were baptized (usually as infants or young children).

At David, this instruction takes place over a two-year period, typically for youth in the seventh and eighth grades. Pastors Beth and Dave along with Ryan Stagg, our Youth and Family Director, provide in-depth instruction on the Bible, both Old and New Testament, and the teaching from Luther's Small Catechism. Focusing on faith formation, the classes typically meet throughout the school year and include at least one overnight retreat. For more information, contact Pastors Beth or Dave, or Ryan Stagg.
